NEVERMORE: 'The Obsidian Conspiracy' U.S. First-Week Sales Revealed

"The Obsidian Conspiracy", the new album from Seattle metallers NEVERMORE, sold around 4,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 134 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD landed at position No. 1 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.

NEVERMORE's previous album, "This Godless Endeavor", opened with 5,000 units back in August 2005.

NEVERMORE has tapped a "very talented" Hungarian guitar player by the name of Attila Voros to play second guitar on the band's current tour.

The drum tracks for "The Obsidian Conspiracy" were completed in the group's hometown of Seattle with SOILWORK guitarist Peter Wichers, who previously worked with Warrel Dane on the singer's solo debut, "Praises to the War Machine". Longtime friend and collaborator Andy Sneap (MEGADETH, ARCH ENEMY, EXODUS, MACHINE HEAD) once again handled mixing duties. The captivating and dynamic cover art was created by the great Travis Smith (OPETH, KATATONIA) .

NEVERMORE will embark on its first North American headlining tour in almost three years this fall. The trek, which kicks off on September 23 and runs through November 5, will also feature WARBRINGER, MUTINY WITHIN and HATESPHERE in the support slots.

There will be a limited number of VIP tickets available which gets fans early entry before doors for a pre-show NEVERMORE meet-and-greet.
